Babies usually get clothes or toys for presents. But this gift guide found at Bloesem has a delightful mix of ‘others’. Browse on through to get a proper look and perhaps, find your perfect Christmas gift for the wee tods you know.

I was searching for a theme for the week when I decided to just showcase the random bookmarks I have made over the past week or so. They were threatening to burst and become unmanageable! It is amazing the amount of inspiration and creativity that you have… just so long as you look.

For today, a fresh beginning to the week… here is an extensive look at Beau Coup.

This company has been making the rounds on the blogs but another shout out about it would not hurt. First seen on Style Me Pretty where they were having a joint giveaway (sorry, now over but promo still on!), their tasteful favours blew me away.

Whilst the idea of a wedding favour comes instantly to mind, a little ingenuity can go a long way. Corporate gifts can be found on site as well as favours for a birthday party. Case in point? A small piggy bank would be quite fun as a setting at a baby shower or for the little guests at a toddler’s party.

So go browse through their wide selection. I figure you’d be spoilt for choice. You will probably be limited by your imagination… and your wallet.

I’ve been somewhat taken by colour palettes lately … This Trunkt showcase, Golden Drops of Sunshine, (curated by Smells Like Cotton Candy) is a good example of the eye candy hiding in my bookmark folders for a good cheer me up treat when the going gets tough.

Or if you much prefer a perk me up in terms of mocha hues (think coffee, CAFFEINE!), this showcase, The Bean Devine, curated by Lavender Cottage may be just the thing.

Is it working for you? Hope it chases away the midweek blues!

tummie folding trees

Stumbled upon this pretty cool site in which every project is made of paper. Whilst I do know origami (folding paper cranes and ‘lucky stars’) there are loads more gems in this one. Like Tummie for example.

Makes for a great big encyclopedia of fun things to do. Even with the kids. Ok, some require more patience than the kids have in them. But pick and choose, I am sure you’d be rewarded with great finds.

My favourite letter is coming up next!

What’s that?

LMNOP!

LMNOP? But there’s no such letter! And I thought I knew all the letters of the alphabet. Oh wait, it is L, M, N, O and P.

The above conversation jumped right into my mind when I first read about LMNOP. It is from a scene in Sesame Street‘s Alphabet Safari and deeply impressed upon me because Jayden has had it on replay mode for a while now.

LMNOP

But I digress. LMNOP or Laugh, Make, Nurture, Organise, Play is a delightful online magazine targeted at hip stylish parents and their children. Its free to download and choc a bloc with wonderful new treats. A great visual spread of some of the hottest and latest things to delight your child’s senses.

monkey business

This particular spread caught my eye. Most probably because the monkeys are in such a playful state. Reminds me of Jayden. One kid, many hands needed. These are available at Enfant Terrible.

… but we hate the downtime. I think a number of us Etsy sellers are getting frustrated with the difficulty in listing new items. The forums are pretty full with such discussions. So, no new listings on Sparkle Thots Etsy but a few new ones at Sparkle Thots, the Store.

Still, no one said that you should not be shopping Etsy just yet. I have discovered yet another networking site dedicated to Etsy. We Love Etsy, hosted by Ning is similar to Indiepublic except it is all about Etsy love. Join to discover loads of Etsy sellers networking as well as to spread the word around on the handmade, handcrafted items every talented seller is.

I’m on it! Are you?

Woohoo! Have gotten confirmation that I will be in for the next round of the Sampler…! Tralalala…! Will be submitting a selection of some new designs that will be released in store come September. So do watch for it.

Oh wait… what is the Sampler you say? Its a simple concept really. So simple its ingenious. Basically its like a Christmas present that comes round once a month packed with goodies from Indie businesses. Ok, the official “taken from website” write up puts it as “a super fun marketing & promotional tool for indie businesses. Each month, independent crafters, artists, shops, zines and record labels who run web-based businesses send samples and promotional materials to a contribution pool. All the samples are photographed, posted to the site and then are portioned out, put in little packages and sent off to Sampler Subscribers, other Sampler Contributors and members of the Media all over the world!

But, its kind of lengthy so head on down to the gallery and discover some great samplers that have been sent in over the months!

Woohoo! For all the Indie-fans out there, there is now a great site to take your obsession to the next level. Indiepublic launched by Sion of Cuteable is a great networking site that hooks up Indie fans and Indie designers alike. It has been such great fun since I joined and I am looking to ever increase my friends pool.

Hop on down to check out the main site… as well as the Singaporean community (help it grow) there. And drop by my lil home there. Because, psst, there is something special awaiting you.

*poof! off to scout out more Indie designers for the blog!*
