Sparkle Thots Jewellery :: Rosehips (Earrings)

Been a busy bee! Thanks to the lovely ladies, Beverly and Candice, I’ve been swarmed with orders. I’ve spent the week ‘meeting’ new customers and some old friends, crafting their orders and packing them off to new homes. A little manic but oh so gratifying. Thank you so much for your support.

Above are some new pieces… The one in the middle, is a lil gift for a friend. We didn’t manage to troop on down to visit at Naomi’s birth (we were all SICK!) so I figured I’d send something along. I’m glad it got to her safe and sound. It’s a lil charm anklet in 925 silver, with a lil bird and leaves, her initial and aquamarine (March’s birthstone). I absolutely adore the clasp. A beautiful flower hook.

Ah… babies!

“The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch swing with, never say a word, then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation that you ever had.”

I think all children love swings. That probably is an overgeneralisation but really, I love the feeling of flying, of seeing how far you can swing, of challenging the chain (or rope) to go further than it probably should. Bliss. Having the wind rush through your hair. The exhilaration of play.

The best ones are the ‘old’ ones. A simple tyre and chain contraption or wooden plank and rope. Attached to the sturdy tree. Or found in one of those old school playgrounds. Oh those playgrounds are another story altogether. None of the modern contraptions. Probably the most rustic we could get in the concrete jungle we live in.

To be a kid again… to kick off those shoes and climb up the seat. And FLY.

Unconventional Cinderella

Swing Girl. Swing.

Don't underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can't hear, and not bothering.

I really want to go find a swing. A tyre or wooden plank one please.

Jayden is 4!

In the world of parenthood, when your child turns a year older, a big celebration happens. 3 times over. At least. For the first time, Jayden (my elder son) is much more aware of the idea of celebrations. This year he started early. Prepping us that is.

Trying to get the concept of months into him, we prepped him in December that his birthday was coming. So at the Christmas party where they celebrated everyone’s upcoming birthday, he went forward. FF on to today which is his actual birthday, we have come a long way.

Jayden is 4!

He asked for goodie bags in addition to the customary cake. ‘For 11 friends’ he said. It turned out to be 9 boys and 12 girls. ‘And 3 more for my teachers.’ Very well my son. So whilst sourcing gifts and packing the goodie bags, Sparkle Thots’ gift sets were born. Because I discovered, I like making them. :)

And now, I’m off to celebrate. Back soon with more goodies, of the sparkly kind!

Not making any announcement of any kind.. I simply stumbled upon this picture whilst preparing a Quotable Quote and it was too cute not to pass up.

Any mother would totally understand. You don’t need to be carrying twins to want to evict the kids. Happy Tuesday!

For those of you who didn’t get the tweet or read the store announcement, I’m out of town right now. So hmm, this post is somewhat of a misnomer. In any case, we’d be back this Saturday and have your orders processed and ready to ship on 22nd Nov.

Orders made during our out-of-town period will ship with a little extra something. Rest assured, barring any major screw up by the postal agencies (in which we are all dead), your packages will still arrive in time to be stowed under the Christmas tree.

And a shout out to join our mailing list if you haven’t already done so because we have something special planned in the lead up to Christmas. Our most favourite time of the year!

So… what are you waiting for? Shop away. :D

It has been a silly weekend on the blogfront. Amusing and disappointing at the same time. It just culminated in a case of finger-pointing and supposed victimisation. On this note, I figured I’d like for this Floral Monday’s flowers to be something pure and simple, unobtrusive and beautiful. I really need to clear my mind of all the negativity going around. And to begin to focus on Christmas.

Spending the day out with the children helped. At least, no lies there. Instead, genuine smiles. Yes, biased mum talking here. You don’t have to remind me that I’m forgetting the difficult times in raising toddlers. They mature fast nowadays. Becoming little adults in the way they talk and act. So a delicate balance of what to teach, how to teach has to come into place.

Ok, too many words. On to the beauty of the humble Baby’s Breath. A ‘filler’ of sorts yet oh so dreamy. Happy Monday!

With two really active children, I don’t get half as much sleep as I’d like to. I often find myself needing a power boost, minutes after I get out of bed. It isn’t easy, it isn’t always fun. But gee, I wish I could get more shut eye! Maybe in a million years or something I would. And if I was single, I’d love to have the bedroom above. Pretty please?

In any case, these bedrooms are so beautifully done up, I sure hope their lucky owners spend enough time there to do them justice! And yes, I am green with envy.

Getting all sentimental thinking of birthdays and what they mean… So in honour of babyK’s birthday (week), here’s looking at little cutie pies celebrating their first birthdays. Don’t they make you want to throw a big party for them all?! A wonderful dose of inspiration really (I sneaked in a couple of pictures that are full of the girly-pink dresses and decor and the delectable food that was served). Get ready to want to pinch some cute chubby cheeks!

That was the most fun I've had in years!!

And well, the reality of it all.

Have you entered the Celebrate the Special Moments contest? Enter now to win a goldfilled Ribbons ring.

I had a couple of ideas swimming about in my head. All related with celebrations, moments to remember. Then I thought to share something more personal. I delved into the photo archives and… I lost it. There were so many precious moments to share that I didn’t know where to begin or how to even start.

I’d figure it out somehow. But for the moment, I’d just enjoy the moment of being there. Like today when we had cake. It was a mess of course. But I think the kids enjoyed it. Especially older brother with his infatuation for all things pink. (Would you believe he asked for a Strawberry Shortcake cake for his birthday?!)

Back tomorrow with precious pictures of lil ones, all full of innocence.

** Giveaway still on. Check Ribbons Ring :: The Giveaway Edition for more details.

A Girly Celebration

Sorry, I didn’t manage to do up a Floral Monday post this week. But… BabyK turns 1 today :) Following from the baby shower we had last year, let’s just do a virtual birthday party. I created a treasury full of girly items. Things that I’d love to purchase if money was no issue. These lovely handcrafted items make amazing additions to any home.

Sparkle Thots Jewellery :: Ribbon Ring (Ring)

And … what’s a party without gifts (and games)! This time round, answer two simple questions and stand a chance to win a goldfilled Ribbons ring. :)

1. What event / thing / person would you want to “don’t forget”? (Yes, I know it is blatant murder of the language but humour me)

2. It is a birthday (party) after all. What would you want to gift?

Easy peasy. So comment away. Party open from now till 10th August. Winning entry will be drawn at random by the birthday girl.

The nitty gritty … Leave a comment here with your ‘answers’ to both questions. The winner will be announced 10th August on the Sparkle Thots blog. Be sure to use a valid email address when entering. To increase your chances of winning, tweet, blog or highlight this post on facebook! Be sure to include the URL(s) in which you did so in your comment as well.
