Floral Mondays :: Baby’s Breath

It has been a silly weekend on the blogfront. Amusing and disappointing at the same time. It just culminated in a case of finger-pointing and supposed victimisation. On this note, I figured I’d like for this Floral Monday’s flowers to be something pure and simple, unobtrusive and beautiful. I really need to clear my mind of all the negativity going around. And to begin to focus on Christmas.

Spending the day out with the children helped. At least, no lies there. Instead, genuine smiles. Yes, biased mum talking here. You don’t have to remind me that I’m forgetting the difficult times in raising toddlers. They mature fast nowadays. Becoming little adults in the way they talk and act. So a delicate balance of what to teach, how to teach has to come into place.

Ok, too many words. On to the beauty of the humble Baby’s Breath. A ‘filler’ of sorts yet oh so dreamy. Happy Monday!

With two really active children, I don’t get half as much sleep as I’d like to. I often find myself needing a power boost, minutes after I get out of bed. It isn’t easy, it isn’t always fun. But gee, I wish I could get more shut eye! Maybe in a million years or something I would. And if I was single, I’d love to have the bedroom above. Pretty please?

In any case, these bedrooms are so beautifully done up, I sure hope their lucky owners spend enough time there to do them justice! And yes, I am green with envy.

Getting all sentimental thinking of birthdays and what they mean… So in honour of babyK’s birthday (week), here’s looking at little cutie pies celebrating their first birthdays. Don’t they make you want to throw a big party for them all?! A wonderful dose of inspiration really (I sneaked in a couple of pictures that are full of the girly-pink dresses and decor and the delectable food that was served). family :: like Kat and Dog

I had a couple of ideas swimming about in my head. All related with celebrations, moments to remember. Then I thought to share something more personal. I delved into the photo archives and… I lost it. There were so many precious moments to share that I didn’t know where to begin or how to even start.

I’d figure it out somehow. But for the moment, I’d just enjoy the moment of being there. Like today when we had cake. It was a mess of course. But I think the kids enjoyed it. Especially older brother with his infatuation for all things pink. (Would you believe he asked for a Strawberry Shortcake cake for his birthday?!)

Back tomorrow with precious pictures of lil ones, all full of innocence.

A Girly Celebration

Sorry, I didn’t manage to do up a Floral Monday post this week. But… BabyK turns 1 today Following from the baby shower we had last year, let’s just do a virtual birthday party. I created a treasury full of girly items. Things that I’d love to purchase if money was no issue. These lovely handcrafted items make amazing additions to any home.

Children — With These Rings

I fess… this post is a spin off from my infatuation with rings. I never quite noticed the use of rings in local children / baby photography sessions but I was awed into searching for more after seeing a couple of these. They are meaningful and that taken of premmies really tugged at the heart strings. Rings are just that big… and to see the lil baby’s hand fitting through it was heart-wrenching.

Thankfully, the babies have since grown up strong and healthy. No longer wee little ones. Take time to enjoy…

peter rabbit hops into shop

well, sorta.

A customer requested for a few simple necklaces that will be suitable to wear on their own or layered for more wear. This resulted in this mini collection of sweet simple necklaces that are beautiful enough to wear alone or with other necklaces. Hope you’d like them too. This series is very affordable too (made with goldplated findings) and make wonderful gifts all year round.

I’ve taken one of Illustrated for myself! It reminds me of Peter Rabbit. Beatrix Potter has such a lovely style of illustrating all on her own. I’m sure you’d agree it is timeless.

DIY Weekends :: Easter Celebrations

Perfect timing. Lace dyed eggs for Easter.

I actually managed to watch the episode these eggs were featured in. I remember sitting there in amazement and thinking it would be wonderful if I could get them done. With the Easter season approaching, I googled for the how-to and was pleased to find it still archived on Martha Stewart.

However, it does seem like a ‘hit and run’ with this craft. There are quite a few negative comments about how the results are nothing like these while others have gotten the same amazing results. So, use with caution.

I, probably will have to keep the craft aside for another weekend. Jayden’s down with a fever. All weekend activities planned have been thrown out of the window. I hate the viral bug!
