Yesterday sure felt like Saturday! I kept having to remind myself that it was midweek and that it was a public holiday…

We managed to hit Fash Bash @ 11am, joined the crowd waiting for the doors to be opened and then swarmed in to ‘visit’ friends. It was crowded and kind of squeezy (made even worse by having to carry a struggling toddler), but oh lots of fun.

And about an hour later, we scooted off with 2 wristlet pouches from Little Odd Forest. :) Twas a good outing. And on the way out, we bumped into Stephie of Fashionation! :D

All in all, a good weekend holiday!

… birthday present in advance? Husband’s birthday but I get presents?

*sigh* I wish.

clockwise from top right …

These are my faves… and with the new promo going on, my hands are itching to grab. But but …

kelly diy

No, I cannot afford a ‘real’ one but I can get crafty with it. Spotted via How About Orange, this downloadable paper Kelly is quite the thing to spice up the workstation. Picture it at a fashionista party as a favour bag and it should stand you in great steed.

Heck, make it of stiffer papers, throw in some a paint palette and you can have a great bridal shower activity as you and your girlies design your own bags.

Now excuse me whilst I go in search of some paper.

Not. But keeper of bags I am. Those that know me, know I love to travel light. Unfortunately with the birth of Jayden, I had to give that habit up. Babies, or more accurately, their traveling necessities, are a whole BIG package.

However, now that the boy has turned 1, and I am more aware of what he really needs on an outing, I have started packing light all over again.

I started on my lil bag that I add to his ‘diaper’ bag. And now, it has shrunk to this size. A nice pretty package I must say. Just the way I like it. This particular one, is by Tina of Bagonebagshop. A lovely wristlet made from cotton fabric, with an exterior suede upper panel, it is a roomy one; able to take my card case, mobile, digital camera, wet tissues and keys.

Local buyers would be pleased to know she is from Singapore… and that she is having a sale. :)

Seriously, with such talent sprouting up all over the island, you really have no excuse not to shop local.

Dante Beatrix Bags

These bags are oh so cute! Designed by Dante Beatrix, they are available at Oompa. Made of lightweight nylon and can be spot cleaned. For children aged 2 and up. I don’t suppose that excludes me. :P

Retails at USD35.99 with free shipping within US for orders above USD65.

… of the handmade variety. Seen on Oh, Fransson!, this vintage pillowcase has been given a new lease of life as a lunch bag. Follow the tutorial found on site and make one unique piece for yourself. Add your photos of the done up piece to the Flickr group and let us make vintage all the rage.

Stumbled upon this lil shop and its celebrating its first year anniversary! As a result, all their mini zippereds located in the petite section are going at USD 5. What’s more, they are still sent by registered airmail and have cute hanging gifties… Do check them out before their sale ends!

Made out of pretty fabrics, their dimensions of 5″ x 3.5″ make them perfect for your camera, cell phone, coins, keys, lippy, cards, mints… whatever. Great for occasions when you don’t want to lug huge purses around.

My selection from their sale range…

Oh, and did you know… they come from Singapore too! Yay!

And to round of this mini-series of made in Singapore goodness, is a bag “store” by Sharon. Oh Hello Flower is full of lovable stuff! From totes to dresses, Sharon’s keen eye and great sewing skills turn beautiful fabrics into wearable pieces of art. I am so inspired by her designs as they are well, very me. Though I figured, I am much better off buying them off her rather than trying my hand dabbling in it.

My top pick is this… Vintage eyelet bag, available at SGD 30. Made with sturdy and well finished wooden handles, true vintage eyelet lace (passed down from her friend’s Aunt who was a seamstress), lined with gray floral vintage sketch fabric. Also with snap closures to prevent your things from falling out. A timeless and cheery piece that’s all perfect for a day out or a summer picnic with your favourite dress! (as described on site).

By now, it is easy to tell that a bright myriad of colours is almost always a sure way to attract my attention. Whether it attracts for the right reason remains to be known but this blend by Kookii Kooky has gotten itself into my books for having the right moves. Selling a selection of handmade goodies, Kookii Kooky by Yen, stocks a girl’s haven. Born out of a love of creating clothing for Blythe dolls, Yen started Kookii Kooky as a result of the surplus fabrics. A real bonus for us all I must say. My personal faves are the button pins, pin mirrors and full-of-retro-cuteness pouches.

Back again to bags, Georgia Hadley of August Lately is definitely one of them sites to keep an eye out for. Her lovingly made bags, pouches and other assorted items speak of simple chic. The greatest thing about her? She allows for custom designing of bags / pouches! Check out her large selection of fabrics to choose from.

Also as loved are the matching pocket mirrors for those who love everything coordinated.
