Sparkle Thots Jewellery :: Celebrate The Special Moments

Read on to the end for a special giveaway announcement!

Last year, the weather in Singapore was all hot and icky. It made me really really wish that babyK was out. At least I wouldn’t feel so warm. Or be so forgetful (so I thought). With that train of thought, I sat myself down at the crafting table. I was inspired by the old idea of tying a ribbon round the finger to remember something and thus handwrapped the first of many Ribbons ring.

Sparkle Thots Jewellery :: Don't Forget Ribbons Ring (Ring)

It had a runaway success, with features on Etsy Finds and many blogs. Till today, I get lil notes from customers saying that they adored the ring for the significance. A large percentage of customers get the Ribbons ring as gifts for their bridesmaids, others as gifts between close friends. Recently, one ordered a ring as a gift for a dear friend from whom she was going to be separated.

I’m inspired and touched by all the reasons and the significance you have placed on it. And I continually am humbled by the things (events / people) you remember with the lil ribbon.

Thank you.

i would like to remember how the love of my life pressed coffee for me for the first time: it was raining, and we sat at the second floor balcony of starbucks that overlooked the city. it was cold, and the heat of the coffee as i held it close caused my glasses to fog. and he said, “it’s not perfect, but i really think you’ll like it.”

I can’t help but be amazed by how such a simple design can look so lovely yet do so much for one’s appeal with fashion. This is something that I won’t mind wearing, not only would it remind me to “Not forget” but it will also be a way of reminding me about how I should cherish the simple things in life.

  31. Tracy on August 9, 2010 5:12 pm

Hello! I find myself here via Clara’s place, Bloomie. That is soooo sweet! What a great idea. I think I’d need bows with notes attached to all my fingers to remember things… haha! ;o) This would make a really lovely gift for a loved one. I like the idea of this for bridemaids and friends. I would give such a ring to my sister–we live so far from each other. She could see it every day and be reminded how much I love her and miss her. :o ) Lovely giveaway… Thank you so much!

  32. Howard on August 9, 2010 9:45 pm

I would love to remember …

… the first day I met my, now, wife. If I had only known back when I was 17 that this girl I worked with would be by myside for the rest of my life and would be my partner in helping to create our wonderful family that we have today …

then maybe I would have asked her out a lot sooner.

On a side note, I was referred to this website by a friend of ours, Siddy, and I do love the simplistic design of this ring.

It reminds me of a shoelace. You have a left side & a right side, but really you are “one” & come together for a greater cause.

Thank you for reading, and I have tweeted this out. http://twitter.com/ourlifeintext/status/20706817789

The ribbon reminds me of how much my mom loves using pink lace ribbons to tie my hair when I was a kid! It is a representation of love and happiness. It serves as a reminder that we should be always grateful to our parents even after we stepped into adulthood! And remember how much they sacrificed and did for us when we were young and silly.

  34. Natasha on August 10, 2010 12:23 am

    HI!

Here’s is one moment I’d like to remember: The moments I am and will be sharing with my mother (who also play the father role in my life) because, to make it short, I have been taking her for granted for the past 22 years. A ribbon will signify the connection of the two loose ends.

    Regards,
    Natasha
