I guess this would be a good time to bake something. After the delish looking cupcakes from earlier this week. How about trying your hand at a rainbow cake?

Followers on Facebook and Twitter would have learnt of the latest offshoot of Sparkle Thots… Sparkle Destash! Yes, after almost 5 years of crafting, the stash has gotten way out of hand. It is about time to start clearing space and making way for new ones. Over the years, the direction and style of designs has changed and so I am clearing the older items out.
All the items have been handpicked and are what I will (or have!) use in my own jewelry. I am clearing them because there really is just too many things I want to do and some have just got to go. With two children, I’m taking a break from my self imposed one item a day (at least) to crafting when inspiration hits AND there is time. No slipshod work please.
So for now, crafters / scrapbookers, enjoy the new shop. Opening specials coming up so do remember to *heart* Sparkle Destash. New items to be listed daily!
** I allow combined shipping for Sparkle Thots & Sparkle Destash. Email me for more details.

Beautiful teacup floral arrangements made by Chelsea of Frolic. I could do with these on my dining table every day of the year!

Rather busy chasing the kids this week. Life happens. Expect another shop update this weekend / coming Monday. Full of elegant pearl jewelry, glittery gold,… in short, the bits you love about Sparkle Thots. Meantime, check in store for the Christmas collection!

Spent copious amount of time at Daiso, the local (ok, more like imported from Japan) version of a dollar store where everything retails at $2. Lots of fun! I spent an insane amount of time at the kitchen section with bento boxes, sets and the like. So when I spotted this lunch bag tutorial on Lilac Silhouette, I just had to share.
Like she mentioned, it looks easy enough. Maybe I can motivate myself to do it … when the kids go to school? Tutorial is part of a freebie from Make Good Books.

This ruler reminds me of Kenzo’s Flower… probably the singular use of the poppy / red flowers. Each flower has been painstakingly hand positioned 1cm apart from the other. The entire ruler handmade. No wonder the huge pricetag but really, beautiful to behold.
One of those lemmings… because I doubt I can bear to use it. *What and risk scratch marks?!*

I can’t paint for nuts… so to see these are actually water paintings and not photographs took my breath away. Some people have all the talent!
Photo painting by Alyssa Monks. Be flabbergasted. Check out the rest of her gallery.
Hello, I'm Ruth, and this is my lil corner of whimsical fun. Choc-ful of dreamy romantic delights, it's my escapade from the daily grind.
