From the monthly archives: January 2009

This tutorial has been making its rounds around the blogosphere but if you haven’t seen it yet, I think it is a pretty ‘back to school’ kind of craft.

Seen via Creature Comforts, the repurposed paperbacked apple structure tutorial is by Cheeky Magpie. Enjoy!

I’ve had a little tod stuck to me pretty much the whole day so I haven’t quite been able to keep to my promise of restocking the shoppe. I’m crossing my fingers (and toes!) that there’d be time after tonight’s CNY visitation (yes, it hasn’t ended yet, 15 days for CNY remember?) to sneak into the study and work.

But in the meantime, here’s a sneak preview of an awesome piece that is simple, elegant and blissfully romantic in a quiet sort of way. Whoever said romance needed to be over the top extravagant?

It is almost impossible to not be aware that Valentines’ is coming. Yes, it may be on Feb 14, a good 3 weeks away but when you consider the time required for international shipping, it is best to start shopping early.

This pretty stationery is from Patricia Zapata of A Little Hut. It brings to mind the image of carved initials in the trunk of an old tree. In fact, the empty space there is for you to personalise it with your own initials. Quaint ain’t it?

“The authors say that blogs who receive this award are exceedingly charming. This blog invests in proximity in space, time and relationships. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these awards are cut, even more friendships will be propagated. Please give your kind attention to these writers! Deliver this award to 8 bloggers who will choose 8 more, and include this cleverly written text in to the body of the award.”

Just when I think I blabber to myself, Jenny comes along and gives me a Blog Award! *blush*

I’ve taken a bit of time to collate my list of 8 bloggers and here they are!

  1. Sina of Erase & Repeat
  2. Wynn of ZakkaArt
  3. ‘Corsage’ of I am Corsage
  4. Michelle of Unpolished Gem
  5. Sue of Sue’s Blog
  6. Chelsea of Frolic
  7. Su Ling of Laissez Faire
  8. Jullie of Crafting with Jullie

These individuals are either crafters themselves based in Singapore, writers of design blogs that inspire me or beloved people who are willing to stand out in boldness of their faith. As a result, they all play a role in encouraging me along, inspiring me and motivating me further. :)

I won’t quite be tagging them but I do think they would be a lovely place to begin some bloghopping.

** when will our hearts beat as one? **

Pink paua shell hearts strung on gold and silver plated chains. Get one or both. Or choose a pairing in your favourite setting. Available tomorrow.

Been busy editing images, replying emails and catching up on admin. There’d be a mini shoppe update tomorrow so watch for it. As usual, sneaks are up at our photostream.

Still on the topic of the little tod’s birthday, look what I found?

Apparently, now you can design your own muppets! :D Quite fun but a tad costly. But do go check it out at FAO Schwarz nonetheless. It certainly seems like Sesame Street is reinventing itself and keeping up with the times!

Pretty happy to update that all the packages are on their way out! I’d update by tomorrow (via email) regarding the details of the postage. International customers, please give 14 working days grace. Local customers, your packages should arrive by Friday.

New goodies to be launched tomorrow. I need a short break.

Now that the long weekend in Singapore is just passed, we are stepping up into gear to get all your packages out today. It was a whopping bummer crop of orders that came in during the break and we are doing our best to ensure all your orders are at the post office (and on their way to you!) by the end of the day.

We are pretty excited! We have had a flurry of international friends stopping by and just thinking about where these packages are going is giving us an adrenaline high. :) For everyone else who is stopping by after a break, do take a look at our specially collated Valentine’s collection. Stocks are running low (a good number went OOS over the long weekend!) and we hope you’d get your hands on your favourite items before they are out of stock!

… so shop away :D I’d be holed up at the workbench and will probably be able to respond to email enquiries fast. If you have any that is.

Now that the ‘important’ first 2 days of CNY is over, I’m turning my attention elsewhere. Jayden‘s birthday is coming. Not that we are going to do a big birthday bash, but these pictures just attracted me.

In all likelihood, his 2nd birthday will be an intimate family affair. No need ‘favours’. Just a cake for the fun of it. And lots of pictures of course.

(By the way, whilst these were meant for a baby’s shower, I’m sure with a little bit of creativity and ingenuity, they can be turned into wedding favours too!)

Dear all, have a blessed Chinese New Year!

It almost feels like Chinese New Year came early this year. And with all the festivities going on, we are taking a couple of days off to play. This pair of chirpy birds will be up for sale soon and will be part of the new series coming your way… Just hang in there and enjoy!

The shoppe will still be open but orders will ship only on 28th Jan.
