From the monthly archives: December 2008

I first heard the song on an episode of Cold Case and loved the tune endlessly. My interest was recently revived when a BBC news report came out about it as the song was again made ‘famous’ by winner Alexandra Burke, in X Factor. Whatever the reason, the song gets me in a particularly reflective mood. Apt for such a time as this.

So while I have the video (actually just the song) on constant replay, I wish you all a blessed 2009. I am off to tend to chores right now. Hopefully I’d be able to finish them soon and get back to my precious beads!

Powder pink blush teardrop pearls are daintily topped by a multi-petaled rose bud. Dangles off gold plated earhooks for a simple elegant finish. One of a kind, fastest fingers first. Available in store now.

We are rounding up the year with a few new items. Most of these are precious, one of a kind pieces that we had hoarded for ourselves. But as we do a stocktake, we decide that some need to go. Not because they aren’t pretty but becaue there is no more room to hoard.

We really want to say thank you for the awesome year you have helped make for us here at Sparkle Thots and wish you’d stay on for the new collections to be released in 2009. :) Happy holidays!

Hello again! It feels like it has been months since I’ve been back at the blog when really, it has been but a couple of days. I was taking a breather over the last few days, packing orders and dreaming up new ideas for 2009. I hope they’d come to pass! I am pretty excited by them all.

But vision without action is hallucination, Don Clifton. :P I promise to get my act together and engine moving soon. Meantime, there are still some really good deals over at Sparkle Thots. So hop on over and treat yourself to a little bit of handmade goodness.

And to round the post off, here’s two treasuries I fell in love with over the past few days. I love blue. And this shade of aqua was just too much to pass up! Have a lovely day and I’d see you all tomorrow!

If your kid is anything like mine, feeding time is long and torturous, with no guarantee that food will actually go and stay down the throat. This set of constructive utensils may spur him on to eat and get him excited about meal times. Priced at USD 19.95, they make for quite a novel meal treat.

Available at Constructive Eating.

… and we are off celebrating with family and friends. Here is an early DIY weekend craft for all you last minute crafters or those looking for ways to keep the kids in check. Have fun and we’d see you back here on Monday.

Meantime, Blessed Christmas!

I love these prints that I had spotted on A Room Somewhere. I know I am late for the giveaway (this comes from having too many blogs to keep an eye on!) but I am sure you’d agree that the prints by Persimmon & Pink are too quaint not to be mentioned.

I kind of like this one up above best!

A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon this blog by Chrissie and added it to my blogreader. I love the simple ideas she has collated that the whole family can do together. Also she is a wonderful illustrator who has done up an alphabet colouring book that the kids would probably enjoy.

Browse through and find some novel, everyday ways to keep the kids entertained. Not to mention, your sanity too.

Blessed Christmas!

As we wind down to celebrate Christmas, we thank you all for your support. We hope you had a great year, and the festive season brings yet more cheer. But above all the gift giving, we wish you a blessed Christmas for it was the deed done so many years ago, that gives us such joy.

We have been pretty busy this last couple of days. Busy packing goodies to be sent out to various homes. We pray that you’d love each piece that leaves our doors as much as we do. For now, we are taking a couple of days break as we spend time together as a family. :) We are having positive moments re-reading the Christmas story and sharing it with lil Jayden.

Because beyond the sights and sounds of the season, is a very special gift given so long ago. And we are forever thankful.

This week is for the little boy who kind of made Sparkle Thots happen.

I thought he might like this. The current kid sized table he has, he tends to use it to climb. Maybe the novelty of this one will get him to sit down and use it like a table should be used. I love how it packs away neatly with the chair tucked under.

P’kolino Klick Desk retails at USD 198.85, available at P’kolino.

This week I finally turned my attention back to Trunkt. And boy was it gratifying! The treasuries are oh so pretty. And they load much better than the ones at Etsy (for me). So here is my top pick of the week. A selection of products used at bath time.
