destination :: wedding

We’d be attending a wedding come Friday and I think it kind of put my sensors for all things wedding to be on high alert. I *know* there are a couple of soon to be wed couples reading (may you never turn into bridezillas!) and I figured I might as well put my bloglines subscription to good use. Yes, surely there will be a couple of blogs in the RSS reader who were blogging on wedding celebrations? I mean, with a 191 (and still expanding) list, it would be difficult not to discover gems.
And so, I was not disappointed.
First up is this collection of wedding related blogs. All 100 blogs have been carefully collated and sorted according to their offerings. I have spotted a few whom I am already keeping an eye on, one of which is Etsy Weddings, from whence I got my heads up.

Second up, is this vintage typewriter. Wait, let me explain. Spotted on Design Mom at a party, this typewriter took on the heavy responsibility of printing out each letter of the guests’ wishes. It can easily be used in a wedding where guests type in their messages and you can bind the pages thereafter. Easy to keep too. However, erhmm, admittedly, it does depend heavily on the profile of your guests. Older Chinese relatives would have a hard time. So exercise discretion. Still a unique idea nonetheless.

Next is this Save the Date passport as blogged about on Craftster. The bride-to-be should be given top marks for such a nicely done idea. She is having a destination wedding and is having these passports printed to inform all the guests. In the pages she has a write up of the location, the details of the wedding and a lovely passport holder tag to pack it all in. A lovely unique touch to the save the date cards you typically see.

If you are tired of the logistic nightmare planning already, this beautiful hand embroidered lavender cushion might chase the blues away. Delicate handiwork, they can be custom made (email to ask) into different sizes. I thought they would be a nice touch to the entourage or gifts to the nearest and dearest. Have them as wall hangings (and framed), handkerchiefs or small scented sachets. Do check out her other designs. There is a certain quiet charm about them.

Or if you are able to splurge, jewelry from Passementerie would be perfect. If you can bring yourself away from the more ‘traditional’ sources of bridal jewelry, the pieces from here would be show stopping and complement your gown. Quite frankly, you can go for a simple gown without all the ‘bells and whistles’ when adorned by these.

I agree, any signature piece from the Passementerie Collections would be a definite showstopper - and a treasure for many, many years to come.
I just love Passementerie and I am so glad to see her here!
Sandra & Jen :: thanks for stopping by! I’m glad you both agree with me on Passementerie! I love her designs and really wish I could own ONE (at least!) in future. *sigh* still working on it.
