From the monthly archives: July 2008

Well, sort of. I have uploaded a few new items that are available in either one off or really limited (think 2-3 sets) quantities. Do go and check them out. Amongst them are the earrings I had given a sneak preview of. They showcase the latest of Karin’s awesome polymer clay beads. All handmade by her and specially flown in. Really wonderfully made, each piece is unique.

Hope you’d like them as much as I do!

A couple of days ago I stumbled upon Snippet and Ink. I love how Kathryn manages to come up with mood boards to suit a variety of different tastes. Board #250 featuring a combination of aqua and poppy is a refreshing take on the colours and is quite lovely.

Do check out her post for more details on the vendors featured in the board and browse around for other colour inspiration. Not just for weddings of course. They make great party planning tools too. Especially if you are particular about being coordinated.

fresh out of the oven… a new pair of earrings!

more (description, price, length) on them later… gotta run off and finish some errands. hope you like them though. only two available. but as usual, drop me a note if you can’t wait. some items have been known to never make it in store after sneak peeks.

ok, enough talking. tata!

I seldom do studs but since the previous pair had ran out, I thought it would be great to replenish it. :) So here is Purple Petals — a 1 inch fabric flower sitting atop silver plated studs. Pretty!

Available in store at just $5.60. :) Great fashion, even on a budget.

A couple of months back there was a craze for birdcages. Used as table decor, jewelry stands, centrepieces… the huge oft white cages stole the limelight. I guess they conjured up impressions of idyllic country homes or something.

This birdcage has a different sort of life. It became a chandelier with blossoms hanging down beneath it. Painted pink it feels like it is the best adornment for a girl’s room. I’d like one myself actually. Though, I’d admit, I might get weary of seeing the pink everyday.

There’s something elegant about lace. It just makes everything look much more posh… or so I think. Maybe it is a girl’s whimsical fantasy come true.

This lace tape from Boiler Design Office is just the thing to add a touch of class to your packaging. Or anything for that matter. Even a frame can be nicely dressed up with this.

Working with amazonite again after a long break, I am remembering the reason why I fell in love with it in the first place. I love the robin blue hues of the stone and this piece features a cluster drop set against gold. A classic feel that would be perfect for a simple wedding.

Or a gift for the bride. Whether she gets it for herself or is gifted it by her friends, it fulfills the traditional “something blue” aspect to perfection.

Amazonite Bleu is an amazonite cluster pendant strung on 18 inch gold plated chain. Closes with a lobster clasp for easy wear. Classic, timeless and modern all at the same time. Available in store at $31.50 for a limited period (10% off UP$35).

Hoot! Look who I spotted over here… Through random surfing of Etsy Hearts, I stumbled upon SanFran67 and her lovely multi-layerered paper sculptures. My personal favourite is this Owl Tree. They come framed, ready to display!

There is something about this week’s selection of faves that I cannot quite pinpoint… They aren’t quite the usual faves I have. I found each and every one of these treasuries interesting for some reason or other. For this first piece, maybe the notion of travel appealed to me. It has a strange hold on me that I cannot help but keep checking back to see what I have missed. I found the This Way Home pendant quaint and amusing. (The original one has been sold… a few other colour options remain).

Softly Now has, for me an undercurrent of poetic resonance. I can’t quite describe but it brings to mind Shakespeare’s plays and the whole idea of love lost and struggled for. Especially strong for the top half of the treasury.

Polka dots in red and white. Candy stripes or ‘mickey mouse’? They come together nicely in this piece. And look, there is Jellybeans print being featured in there.

This one reminds me of Narnia. The first movie where the Ice Queen still ruled. Wintry and cold, yet this selection is not sinister at all. There is a certain beauty in them.

and my top faves for the week are these two… one done up in a cool blue and the other in pristine white.
