happy 2008!

So the new year is dawning, and as everyone looks back on the year that has (almost) passed… I think it is right to say, WOW! What a year.

In 2007…

  1. Bead Haven was relaunched as Sparkle Thots. Same person behind it, expanded material list.
  2. Sparkle Thots became a full time hobby cum occupation.
  3. We went Maad!
  4. Stocked a few items at Maki Squarepatch.
  5. Made loads of new friends…
  6. Had an amazing Christmas rush such that we launched gift certificates.
  7.  Joined the Singapore Etsy team and hooked up with the crazies…
  8. Had a private sale or two.
  9. Came out with a new image, and printed namecards.

All this in a year. And all this change brought about by… JAYDEN. He is 10.5 months old now and a lil bundle of energy. Small is powerful! Believe it.

And so for 2008, catch us ‘live’ at Maad. We will be launching a sleek, clean line collection this 5&6 Jan. Some sneaks available at our Flickr photostream. But as always, not everything available is found there. Come on down and visit us. Or as always, check the online store.

Days away from 2008, I chanced this in the Maad Sunday photostream and thought it was too cute not to share.

So remember, the first resolution… I will go to Maad every month starting from 5 & 6 Jan 2008!

All ‘physical’ orders are to be in by Saturday, 22nd Dec, 12pm local time. Gift certificates may be purchased any day, any time, rain or shine. They are redeemable by your recipient up to the dollar value purchased and are valid for a year from purchase date. Amount is redeemable upon items as well as shipping. Any balance payable will have to be made via local bank transfers.

Singapore is well into the monsoon season with the heavy showers pouring down everyday. This piece reflects the gray skies, dark clouds we are having in a beautiful way. Smoky quartz rondelles are matched with silver plated balls in a cluster, forming a huge drop from the silver plated chain.Closes with lobster clasp. Necklace is approximately 16″; long, pendant is 1″.

experimenting

I LOVE THEM!

Did some experimenting with wires late last night and here’s the result. I love the sleek looks and as soon as I fine-tune them a little, they’ll be out in the Sparkle Thots store soon. Lots of fun to make but lots of work to boot. All the filing BAH!

Its raining cats and dogs here… right now.

 

The one day that Lis, Cindy and I decide to meet, we had great weather. No rain, in fact it was pretty sunny! My transitions shaded over and Cindy took out her sunglasses. Today, it decides to pour. Thank God for the great weather!

We had a great time… the crazies as Cindy titled it. No awkward pauses in conversations as Lis mentioned in her blog. Its true. Finally we got to meet in real life and share snippets of the silliness in each of us. Crafting really brings us closer together.


And erhmm, don’t ask why we didn’t grab some passerby to take a group shot. Just trust us. We met TOGETHER.
