Sparkle Thots Jewellery :: Super Everyday in Silver (Necklace)

Becoming Superwoman!

Time sure has a way of creeping up on you. There has been an influx of orders in August (am not complaining!) and it has kept me really busy. Especially for the last couple of days. I’m really glad to see the last of the paid orders packed and ready to ship tomorrow (ok, a couple more hours) but now, my idle hands feel strange. So send the orders in. :P

Sparkle Thots Jewellery

My worktable looks like a huge mess right now with supplies strewn all over as I alternated between completing orders and being overwhelmed by the creative muse. The stash has been restocked with goodies and I hope to release them soon. They are going to be just great for weddings and for Christmas. Yes, Christmas. Can’t believe it is but 16 weeks till then. Didn’t we just usher in the new year?!

Pine — Longing For Winter

Ah well. I really got to get myself to sleep right now before the new day dawns and my two rested kiddos kill me with their boundless energy. I haven’t had time to edit the SALE listings in Etsy so if you had your eye on something in that section, you got a couple more hours to grab it. Also, the charming pinecone necklace is back in stock. Might as well get a headstart on your Christmas shopping eh?

** Stock is running real low on the Super necklace. The gold version has completely sold out. So grab the silver ones whilst you can.

Teacher’s Day approaches here in Singapore and I thought it fitting to share this poster of LIFE. They say Life is the best teacher ain’t it? Now, off to work on the orders and hopefully, find some time to create out a new collection.

Life is short. Start doing the things you love.

Overrun By Forget-Me-Nots

Busy working on a couple of Don’t Forget rings and was reminded of the flower more commonly known as “Forget Me Not’s”. The real name is Myosotis, but really, Forget Me Not is so much more quaint. The flowers are typically white, blue or pink with lovely yellow centres. More information can be found here and here.

But for me, I say ‘less words, more pictures’. On to the pictures!

Have A Heart

Today I received one of the sweetest emails. It was regarding a surprise that I cannot share too much of. All I can say is that it warmed my heart. I sure hope E can pull it off. It certainly sounds like a lovely surprise. So in honour of all the wonderful heartfelt sentiments that washed upon me, here’s an entire post of hearts.

Sparkle Thots Jewellery :: Hearted (Earrings)

And it ties in with a new item, Heartfelt Sentiments. Handwrapped hearts for your ears. Currently only available in goldfilled, each pair is lovingly shaped to be as close a match as possible. The ends are sanded and the wires gently hammered for strength and shape. Quite literally, a heartfelt sentiment.

Now on to the pictures that have stolen my heart.

Last week, I played hooky with Lynda and we headed off to K-Ki to visit The Little Drom Store. We must be one of the rare few who visit without eating any of the desserts. We whirlwind-ed our way in and out, taking time to browse the little knick knacks before heading for ‘proper’ food. It wasn’t our first stop for the day and as she put it, it was a strange scenario where tour guide (her!) spent as much as the tourist.

But I’m sure we were both happy with our loot. Hah.

I was taken by most of the items in store but must say these retro earrings from the 80’s got me laughing. I don’t quite remember these from that era (then again, I didn’t have earholes till like, 7 years ago?), but I do remember Oriental Emporium. And these had their original Oriental Emporium pricetags still on. Of course the price has erhmm, inflated since.

For more of what goodies they have in store, check out their Tumblr. Or if you are in Singapore, head on down :-

Ask . Believe . Receive

Love this print available at Colorbee on Etsy.

Been busy playing the accidental tourist since Saturday, bringing the terrible two kiddos on a local educational journey. It has been an interesting journey learning more about the small island we call home but goodness, I am exhausted. Most orders have shipped out except one which required a bit more time. And the custom orders, of course.

Hope to be back in full swing crafting tomorrow.

Super — Everyday

And oh, for the local parents, have you gotten your teacher’s day gifts already? A lovely customer reminded me that I need to get my act together and prepare some goodies for Jayden’s teachers when she purchased a pair of pearl earrings for her daughter’s teacher. I had clean forgotten that Teacher’s Day was so near.

I’ve prepared most of my gifts already. Well, if you have had to deal with toddlers, you’d understand that teachers are really an amazing breed. And well, if you’d like, I’d highlight a few that I believe are a great option for teachers. And reasonably priced too.

Personally, I feel that they are great for ‘tight’ budgets, yet pack a wonderful message and are great gifts. All available in our Etsy store right now. If you find any item has been sold out, feel free to leave a comment or drop me a mail and I’d get back to you asap.

Things have been somewhat blue around here. Not because I’m feeling down or under the weather but really, the extremes in the weather. One moment it is all blue skies and blazing hot, and the next dark and cloudy with heavy raindrops pelting down. So this week’s Floral Monday will be dedicated to the blue flowers…

They get their nourishment and drink just the same. And sport a pretty shade of blue. Why let the pastels have all the fans? These can also be just as drool worthy. Just keep an open mind and a ready heart to share some love for pretty blue flowers. Perhaps they’d make the proverbial Monday blues disappear. (Ok, some have been dyed. But think of them as erhmm, mood enhancers!)

Have a lovely Monday!

With two really active children, I don’t get half as much sleep as I’d like to. I often find myself needing a power boost, minutes after I get out of bed. It isn’t easy, it isn’t always fun. But gee, I wish I could get more shut eye! Maybe in a million years or something I would. And if I was single, I’d love to have the bedroom above. Pretty please?

In any case, these bedrooms are so beautifully done up, I sure hope their lucky owners spend enough time there to do them justice! And yes, I am green with envy.

Sparkle Thots Jewellery :: Duet

Duet — Beautiful Together

I often say that beads inspire me. And this is never more apparent to me than in this latest offering. I was fiddling with some new supplies that were lying about on the worktable when it struck me how lovely the dainty polymer clay rose would look when set in rose gold. I am going through a rose gold phase (like I said before, rose + pink, what’s there not to like!) and given the chance, I’d wire everything up in it. But, I do know sometimes the colours clash and it would be a total waste of good material. Not to mention I don’t have a lot of rose gold wires in the first place.

One thing led to another and the result stunned me. And I think you’d agree, they really look beautiful together. In fact, within a couple of hours of launch, the beautiful pairing saw them in a couple of treasuries. Yay. :D

Enjoy. Some of these are already in store. All are made with rose gold filled wires which get their pretty blush colours from the mixing in of copper. Pure gold is too soft for wire work and the addition of other metals allow wire work to be done with it.

Happy browsing!

** On a side note, if you are totally in love with any of the rose gold items, please get them soon. The wires aren’t easily found and as much as I love them, I’m not too sure whether I’d be importing another batch. You have been forewarned. Also… there’s another giveaway going on right now. I’m not sharing where in this post but if you scroll on to our tweets… you just might find out where!
